The Allegria Hotel Revisited

When I wrote this review of Atlantica Restaurant at the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach, the rooftop poolside terrace was not yet open. Over a year later, Jack’s on the Rocks has finally been unveiled. And although I haven’t tried the spa menu or the organic juice bar yet, it is spectacular just from a visual standpoint.

A glimpse of the rooftop's interior.

Inside, there’s a freshly constructed space where you can enjoy massive panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean from floor-to-ceiling windows while relaxing in the lounge area on plush seating. A smattering of cocktail tables, dynamic glittering white pillars and a space you could rollerblade in will make this a fine setting for any upscale shindig. Outside, the pool area was disappointingly small, but it still makes me want to have an affair. Er, I mean…get married. Any excuse for a party!

The dynamic view from above.

I still maintain Allegria is worth the drive. On a beautiful day, take a walk on the Boardwalk then quench your thirst in L’Onda Lounge. Have some sliders on the outdoor terrace (try the yummy seared tuna or lush lobster salad). Overall, the Allegria Hotel is sleek, striking and contemporary cool. You may even run into some celebs, likely to be staying there in the summer months during the Jones Beach Concert Series.
